Holbein pencils

Holbein pencils come in an impressive set of up to 150 colours, with a whole tray of pastel shades.

They are reported to be a wax/oil blend and are extremely soft and buttery. However they are also reported to be difficult to blend smoothly.

They are expensive in the UK and sets appear to be imported directly from Japan through Amazon. Jacksons does offer these now as individual pencils when they are in stock.

We have no information on lightfastness of these pencils.

Have you tried the Holbein coloured pencils?

We would appreciate it if you have tried these pencils if you would share your thoughts on how they perform.
